In the hive, Royal Jelly is used for the nutrition of the queen who, at the height of posture, can put up to 2,000 eggs per day, which corresponds approximately to twice its own weight!

A curiosity : worker bees and queen bees come from the same kind of egg, with the difference that the egg that results in a bee - sterile female - will be fed with Royal Jelly only until the larvae has three days and the egg that will produce a queen bee is fed Royal Jelly until its birth as a perfect insect, about sixteen days later.
